Longtime member of 10978 and previously a Post Commander, Richard also sits on the BOD for NCSD and the Nipomo Olde Town Association.
Hobbies include custom knife making, Custom leather working, pumping up the APC tires and enjoying community volunteering at events.

Again serving the Post as Quartermaster from 2022 into 2025, Mark served as a US Marine.

I entered the Army at age 30 and turned 31 in Boot Camp in 1990. 1st duty station was Friedberg, GE with the 5-18th Infantry Battalion, 3BDE, 3AD. Deployed for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in January 1991.
Served in Kirchgoens (The Rock), GE with 3-5 Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Co. with 4th INF DIV HQ and Fort Hood, Tx. with III Corps HQ's.
ETS from the Army March 2000. Flew to Heidelberg, GE. Mid-May 2000 and started a 16+ year career working as a Planner for V Corps HQ, USAREUR and III Corps.
Now enjoying 'Retired Life' in San Luis Obispo County, Ca.

Leaving a big shadow on the building housing Post 10978, Past Commander Thomas Morgan had a long career serving his nation. Tom has moved to the East Coast and continues to support this nation's warfighters while they are deployed. His generous expertise was available for all and Tom will be missed.

Two and a half years before reaching the fleet at Pearl Harbor. The pleasure of the 1st of the class overhaul for a 688 followed by serving aboard the last commissioned 594 class boat.
On the central coast ever since, enjoys golf, archery and shooting sports. Mark can be found at many volunteer events.
